iPlayer using a proxy

As an experiment this morning I thought that I would try connecting to the BBC not using a VPN.

It still works. It took about a minute to find an exitnode in the UK but the play-back is perfect. If I wanted to download the program it would have been even quicker.

  1. What is an exit node, if I may ask?

  2. An ExitNode is a Tor server in the UK that allows you access the Internet via the Tor Network.

Not all Tor servers are Exitservers (exitnodes) - therefore the selection of the correct servers for inclusion in your torrc file is crucial.
