One of the methods of Self-promotion that seem to be rife at the present time.
What LinkedIn say about themselves:
I have a feeling that the pot has become too diluted already. There are those that have been found on LinkedIn's listings and are now the victim of unsolicited approaches, and those that post their profile in a vein attempt at self promotion.
The fact that you have a LinkedIn profile is cause itself for an observer to question the value of the listing and the authenticity of the information so presented. This information is added by aggregation and by member input. The value of any listing can only be enhanced by unbiased peer-review, LinkedIn does not provide this. LinkedIn have shown by their actions that they are the antithesis of "trusted referral"
