Defamation

Google define what they mean by Defamation on their help page:

Blogger does not remove blogs for negative comment
Google Blogger is a tool to allow Internet users to provide content and comment on what they find in life.

Comments, negative or otherwise, are the corner stone of free speech. If you cannot comment on what you perceive as dubious practice then it is a form of censorship. Just because someone has made a negative comment about you it does not mean that the person is defaming or slandering you.

Defamation and the Catholic Church

Apparently the act of defamation is different here. You cannot claim that the truth is a reason that you can defame a Catholic priest.  If you accuse a priest of Pedophilia, and it is true, it is still defamation according to the church. This is according to Canon Law - if you are not a Catholic priest then you have to prove that what is said about you is untrue to claim that someone is defaming you.
